Our Favorite Features in 2011

When we started Discover Baguio, we wanted to showcase the best that the city has to offer and we certainly did discover places worth seeing.  Here are our best features in 2011.

Mother's Garden. Mother's Garden offers a wholesome destination for the entire family. It is an organic garden where farm animals like pigs, goats, geese, and rabbits are cared for as pets.  A perfect place where kids can learn about the importance of caring for plants, animals, and the environment.  Here, limited space isn't a hindrance in growing a beautiful garden and in fact, visitors are encouraged to start their own small garden even only in small planters. At the Panorama Cafe, guests can enjoy healthy, organic food, as most of the ingredients are harvested from the Chef's Garden.

PNKY Collection / Bed & Breakfast / Cafe.  The Bed & Breakfast is not your typical accommodation because here, the furniture and decorative pieces are actually from the PNKY Collection and guests can buy them at their leisure.  The travel-themed cafe, which is a destination in itself, serves sumptuous meals for guests as well as for walk-in diners.

Hill Station Tapas Bar & Restaurant.  This fine dining restaurant promises diners a rich, pleasurable gastronomic  experience.  It has been  nominated as one of Asia's finest and included in the Miele Guide two years in a row.

Cordillera World. The newest attraction in Mine's View Park where guests are welcome to try on traditional costumes; take a much closer look at authentic tools, gears, and handicrafts of the Cordillera natives; learn more about the culture of the different tribes; and take as many photos as you want.  There is no entrance fee.  Guests can give any amount of donation to support the project and receive a gift as a souvenir.

Mt. Cloud.  This little book store offers so much more than the eye can see.  Here, bookworms can take a comfortable seat at a corner and read through the pages of a book for unlimited hours.  Would you like coffee or tea with that?  You're welcome as well : ) If you have old books that you don't want in your shelves any longer, bring them to the Cloud and they would gladly buy them.  From time to time, this cozy bookshop is also a venue for poetry slams and book-signings.

Ben Cab Museum.  The museum features the works of the National Artist, Ben Cab - his paintings, sculptures and collections, as well as works of other respected artists in the region.  The museum also serves as a venue for exhibits, art film showings, and other related activities.

Which one of these places have you been to?
